The CNY Gift Bag, filled
Red felt, a rattan window and wooden handles, S$6. Choose four Regular jars, six Petite, or two of each, then the flavours. The jars are priced and discounted as usual.
What to bring when you visit
Nobody arrives at a New Year visit empty-handed. There are mandarin oranges, always in pairs, and something for the host’s table. A jar of cookies is the natural choice: it keeps through a fortnight of visiting and goes straight from the bag to the coffee table.
How many jars
Count homes, not people. One jar for each house you visit is the usual rule. Then keep a few back for yourself, because guests come for two weeks and the open jar on your own coffee table empties faster than anyone expects.
Setting the table
Start with the classics, the Golden Pineapple Ball and Kuih Bangkit. Add one for the children, the Matcha White Chip or the Hazelnut Chocolate, and the Dark Chocolate for the guest who finds festive cookies too sweet. That way everyone at the table has a jar to go back to.
Gift bags
The CNY Gift Bag is red felt with a rattan window and wooden handles, S$6. Fill it with four Regular jars, six Petite, or two of each, in the flavours you choose. The jars inside are priced as usual.
